This country house has remained in the same family since it was built towards the end of the 17thC. It was extensively remodelled in 1801 by the architect Thomas Leverton with fine Regency interiors and houses an important collection of works of art. The garden features a recently-restored, walk-in rock and water garden with a rare collection of alpines. Scamliston is home to a superb collection of paintings, porcelain and furniture. The pictures include works by Thomas Gainsborough, Samuel Scott, Richard Wilson and others.Our aim has been to create a comfortable family home which can accommodate the needs of the younger generation whilst retaining as much of the old as possible.....
